Elizabeth has been involved in politics to varying degrees for close to 50 years. As a native of Amarillo, she cares deeply about the goings on in the City and in Randall County.

The first campaign Elizabeth volunteered to work was for Phil Gramm’s initial Republican primary in 1984 to become Senator from Texas. She worked the phone bank. That experience proved to her that individuals can make a difference in the Federal governance of our nation.

When walking blocks for Dick Armey in Flower Mound, Texas during the 1988 election cycle, Elizabeth came face to face with a most astounding artifact of politics. She was paired with a couple of young
adults who had recently relocated from New York to Texas after college graduation. The story of this couple moving from the ranks of the Democrats to the Republicans was powerful. University instructors indoctrination yielded Democrat voters – Payroll taxes turned them into Republicans.

Elizabeth has attended seven RPT conventions and was honored by the TFRW in their Tribute to Women in both 1998 and in 2000. Witnessing first hand the extremely interesting but fictionalized stories
published by the local press in each of these convention cities gave her insight into how media tries to control the flow of ideas. While it is important to be aware of the news in each cycle, it is also important to recognize that every author has a personal agenda that cannot be discounted. Read to recognize the issues of the day, but do your own research for facts.

For nineteen years Elizabeth served as a volunteer on the Planning and Zoning Commission in the City of Corinth, Denton County, Texas. She also volunteered as a Board member of the Lake Cities Library Board of Directors in Lake Dallas, Texas. Elizabeth has also held many volunteer positions in leadership with Denton County Republican organizations including serving as Chair of the Senatorial Convention Resolutions Committee for Senatorial District 12 Convention for 4 consecutive terms.

Elizabeth recognizes the power and necessity of volunteering. Volunteers are the flesh and bones of the Republican party. Every political issue, campaign, and public good begins and is shepherded to completion by the individuals who choose to do the work. Volunteering is not glamorous. Volunteers are the ones who do the hard jobs. But volunteering is very rewarding when high goal achievement and public benefit are the result.

When Elizabeth and her husband returned to Randall County in 2012 following the death of her father, her main focus was the care and comfort of her elderly widowed mother. The ensuing years were sometimes difficult, but always rewarding because she knew she was fulfilling her father’s wishes. Now, after the death of her mother, Elizabeth is once again focusing on building up our neighborhoods, our City and our County through her work in the Republican Party here in Randall County.
