Diane Brown grew up on a farm and ranch in the Texas Panhandle, the historic town of Panhandle to be exact. Diane graduated from Panhandle High School, earned a BS of Education degree from Texas Tech University in 1972, and later returned to teach at the elementary level for 20 years at her alma mater. She was a Reading Recovery specialist, working with the most challenging students using specific, dynamic reading and writing strategies for struggling students to become proficient in reading and writing at grade level. She retired after 32 years of teaching. She also owned a catering business that specialized in creative hand-carved fruit designs in thematic tablescapes for weddings, retirement celebrations, parties, and large functions.
Although Diane grew up in a family with strong faith and conservative values, her family originally voted as Democrats. Her mother was involved with the Carson County Democrats and used the family home as a voting location for the rural area. When the Democrat party began straying from the values that her mother held close to her heart, her mother left the Democrat party to become a conservative Republican. Diane was proud of her mother for her strength and courage to behold her own values, not just follow the party that her parents, and grandparents, that she had worked in and supported in the past years.
Diane values a Constitutional republic with respect for law and order, fair trade, a secure border, a thriving economy, a fair and just judicial system, a balanced budget, a strong military, and godly, wisdom-seeking Christian leaders. She believes in restoring the American Dream for future generations that has been threatened by China and “woke” policies.
Diane has supported President Trump in 2016, 2020, and the present 2024 elections. She supported Representative Ronny Jackson working as a campaign volunteer. She also supports Senators Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson, Marco Rubio, Chuck Grassley, and Representatives Jim Jordan and James Comer. Having a deep desire to become more informed and involved, she joined High Plains Republican Women and Conservative Patriots4Texas that match her conservative values.
Diane has been married to Larry for 27 years and blessed with a blended family of five children, 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is a two-time survivor of breast cancer. She has personally experienced the joy and blessing of adoption. Having met the birth parents of both her children, she sincerely thanked them for choosing adoption rather than abortion. Therefore, she is a strong Pro-Life advocate.
Diane is a member of Hillside Christian Church and says her strength comes from her faith and her family. She enjoys gardening, reading, Bible Study Small Group, BSF (Bible Study Fellowship), and spending time with her large family.
